{"id":9151,"date":"2017-06-09T12:05:22","date_gmt":"2017-06-09T11:05:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.devopsonline.co.uk\/?p=9151"},"modified":"2017-06-09T12:15:39","modified_gmt":"2017-06-09T11:15:39","slug":"cyber-expertise-much-demand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devopsnews.online\/cyber-expertise-much-demand\/","title":{"rendered":"Cyber expertise is much in demand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The General Data Protection Regulation will expand cyber workforces throughout European organisations faster than any region in the world, according to an International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC<sup>2<\/sup>) report, <em>Benchmarking Workforce Capacity and Response to Cyber Risk.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The report results say that cybersecurity companies will expand by over 15% in the next 12 months, with two in five government and companies broadening, leading a shortfall of 350,000 cyber workers by 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The report also states that organisations are struggling to retain their staff with 21% of the workforce having left their jobs in the past year, so 39% UK cyber workers have commanded annual salaries of \u00a387,000.<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Structural concerns hamper development\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cThere are real structural concerns hampering the development of the job market today that must be addressed. It is particularly concerning that employers appear reluctant to invest in their workforce and are unwilling to hire less experienced candidates.
