The funding will allow DataCentred to further expand its OpenStack infrastructure and invest in new staff.<\/p>\n<h2>The OpenStack infrastructure<\/h2>\n<p>The funding package coincides with the launch of a new browser-backed OpenStack terminal, which for the first time, allows users to access an OpenStack command line interface from any web browser, including tablets and smartphones, and start creating and managing services.<\/p>\n<h3>The DataCentred browser-based OpenStack terminal will provide the following:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A browser-based terminal which launches instantly with the necessary credentials \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 to log-in., with no need to install or manually configure the official OpenStack \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 client and the associated dependencies<\/li>\n<li>The terminal can be launched from any web browser including mobile devices<\/li>\n<li>With built-in support, the terminal lists commands, arguments, syntax and so on to \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 help users learn how to create and administer services quickly.<\/li>\n<li>The terminal is based on an innovative use of containers, with micro-services being \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 used to execute each command<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The standardised interface also simplifies support issues and users, in a number of ways, can then manage the deployment of resources via the cloud.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are delighted to have secured this funding package which will allow us to remain on the cutting edge of product development.\u201d Said Dr\u00a0Mike Kelly, CEO of DataCentred. \u201cOur DevOps team continually pushes the boundaries of product development to ensure that customers have access to pioneering technologies, which allows them to manage their data requirements through the most flexible and secure means.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The browser-based terminal is available through DataCentred&#8217;s web-based management application.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Edited from press release by <a href=\"https:\/\/plus.google.com\/u\/0\/104514721381758061808\" target=\"_blank\">Jordan Platt<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DataCentred, a provider of OpenStack-based cloud services, has announced a \u00a31 million funding package from Barclays and existing shareholders.
