It was recently announced that several tech giants would be making a series of commitments to support US president Joe Biden’s cyber security action plan.<\/p>\n
Indeed, tech companies such as Amazon, Apple, Google, IBM, and Microsoft, have promised to commit to the president’s plan to address cyber security threats against US citizens, businesses, and critical infrastructure operators following the many recent attacks on American interests in 2021.<\/p>\n
One of the priorities of the plan is to increase the skilled cyber security workforce as well as\u00a0modernise the US government\u2019s cyber defences and improve collaboration on cyber issues. Besides, the US president also urged Vladimir Putin to stop turning a blind eye to multiple cybercriminal groups that are operating from Russia and asked for\u00a0calls to action on cyber security from the G7 group of countries.<\/p>\n
Moreover, it was reported that insurance companies will provide support of cyber security insurance, and organisations such as Code.org and Girls Who Code stated they will be committed to supporting new security education and diversity initiatives.<\/p>\n
The US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will also start to collaborate with industry on a new framework to shore up the technology supply chain, in order to be a guideline to public and private sectors on how to build secure tech stacks and assess the security of new technology.<\/p>\n
