Yesterday\u00a0Google announced its acquired Xively internet of things business from LogMeIn for US$50million.<\/p>\n
The acquisition is in a bid to strengthen Alphabet’s efforts to take on Amazon and Microsoft’s public cloud business.<\/p>\n
Xively will help Google manage, connect and send data from devices into other systems.<\/p>\n
Antony Passemard, head of product management for IoT and Pub\/Sub at Google Cloud, wrote in a\u00a0blog post:\u00a0“Through this acquisition, Cloud IoT Core will gain deep IoT technology and engineering expertise, including Xively’s advanced device management, messaging, and dashboard capabilities.”<\/p>\n
Xively’s customers include Halo Smart Labs, Lutron and New England BioLabs.<\/p>\n
