Microsoft aims to assist developers through DevOps tooling, to help manage Microsoft’s on-premises and cloud database offerings.<\/p>\n
Its new Microsoft SQL Operations Studio has capabilities of SQL Server Management Studio and SQL Server Data Services with a modern, cross-platform interface, has the ability to deploy Linux and Windows Containers into SQL Server, Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Data Warehouse; helping developers and administrators build and manage T-SQL code in a more agile DevOps environment.<\/p>\n
Rohan Kumar, Microsoft’s general manager of database systems engineering, said at a recent conference: “We believe this is the way of the future.<\/p>\n
“It’s in its infancy. We see a lot of DevOps experiences where development and testing are being used right on containers, but this is only going to get better and SQL is already prepared for it.”<\/p>\n
