International IoT research firm, Park Associates, revealed nearly 50% of customers with Western European broadband are concerned people could get unauthorised access to data through smart products.<\/p>\n
Nearly 50% of consumers in US broadband households rank data security and privacy issues as their greatest concern about connecting devices to the internet.<\/p>\n
Senior analyst at Parks Associates, Brad Russell, said: “Smart home devices bring immense value, but they also create new vulnerabilities and added stress for consumers.<\/p>\n
“The smart home provider that can demonstrate and deliver IoT benefits safely and securely, especially in these early stages of the European market, will open significant business opportunities.”<\/p>\n
