UKCloud Health and GA4GH share data via multi-cloud platform

The multi-cloud platform of more than 30 specialist healthcare partners, UK cloud Health, has become a member of Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH) to advance medicine research via genomic data sharing.

UKCloud Health is hosted by Genomics England, the largest single health dataset in the UK, along with an array of other key hospital trusts.

UKCloud Health and GA4GH have partnered as an eco-system on a multi-cloud platform to share key data sets, as well as attract applications, services and other data.

A multi-cloud approach “helps to provide a comprehensive and effective solution”, according to UKCloud Health’s blog post.

“This is the most recent instance of UKCloud Health offering a cheap platform for an ecosystem of organisations inside a specialist sector to assist speed up innovation and improve collaboration inside a safe, UK sovereign setting,” said Simon Hansford, UKCloud Health, CEO, in a press release.

“With the growing tempo and complexity of analysis and medical advances in genomics and well being, it’s essential to search out higher methods of working as an ecosystem to collaborate extra successfully and innovate quicker.”

Service providers have also already shown interest towards the platform – showing benefits of “secure, low-latency connectivity and increased scope for collaboration”.
