TVPlayer is launching a new recording feature, allowing users to record their favourite TV shows in the cloud.

The network personal video recorder (nPVR) allows watchers to generate their own catch-up content.

10 hours of storage will be available to all paying customers, and an additional of 150 can be purchased for £5 per month.

Rob Hodgkinson, chief operating officer of TVPlayer, said to Broadband TV News: “We are excited to announce the UK’s first cloud-based recording service for live TV.

‘Freedom to watch favourite TV shows’

“This is a significant and ambitious extension of our current service offering. We are now giving consumers the freedom to watch their favourite TV shows whenever and wherever they want, whether in the comfort of their own homes or on the go, whether live or recorded.

“TVPlayer will continue to develop innovative products for our viewers who enjoy high-quality programming at reasonable prices.”

The platform is available for iOS, Freesat, Roku, Apple TV, Xbox, and Windows 10 users.

Microsoft has revealed a new offering for small and midsize businesses (SMBs) called Microsoft 365, which incorporates Windows 10 and Office 365, along with management and security features.

The product will target enterprises and SMBs, giving subscribed businesses the device management feature called Enterprise Mobility + Security, which provides an identity-driven security solution that offers an integrated approach to security challenges

Microsoft calls this “an evolution of its secure production enterprise offering”, according to Techradar.

‘Productivity, security and device management’

“Microsoft 365 represents a fundamental shift in how we will design, build and go to market to address our customers’ needs for a modern workplace,” said Microsoft via a blog post.

“It’s a more cohesive approach and reflects the shift our partners and our mutual customers are making – from viewing productivity, security and device management as individual workloads to seeking a comprehensive approach to secure productivity,” it added.

When businesses deploy, manage and secure devices in a ‘streamlined fashion’ they will also get a single central console.
