Nokia unveils Air-Frame service for mobile network operators

Nokia has revealed that it will be rolling out its latest Air-Frame service for mobile network operators, which is built for cloud-based radio networks.

The servers are designed to not only support cloud-based radio access network applications but also to be deployed at the base of cell towers.

The global leader in mobile networks, digital health and phones will introduce 5G into its new server, for distributed architecture with regional, centralised and edge processing capabilities.

Furthermore, its software will be constructed on OpenStack and OPNFV and developed with fast deployment in edge facilities.

The server will also be compatible with other Nokia switches servers and switches and will “provide for a lower friction transition to a distributed environment”.
