Nationwide Building Society has recently opened the application process for its apprenticeship program aiming to introduce and teach 1.000 people in five years.

Indeed, the program will begin in September and will offer face-to-face as well as remote teaching in Swindon. This initiative, developed by local businesses, government and education institutions, seeks to reimagine STEM education and inspire people to consider a tech career in order to close the UK STEM skills gap.

Nationwide Building Society will be in charge of shaping the curriculum and providing additional support through hackathons, visits from specialist speakers, and coaching. The apprentices will learn all about cybersecurity, software development, and DevOps.

Hopefully, the program will improve the workforce’s IT skills and reinforce the UK tech industry.
