IBM launches AI cloud services in India

Today, IBM launched its artificial intelligence (AI) powered enterprise marketing cloud services in India.

Indian clients’ will now have the ability to market data on IBM’s cloud data centre, giving them scalability, as well as the chance to abide by data requirements.

Privacy regulations

This move will help Indian government agencies and businesses ensure their clients have more control over their data in line with privacy regulations, especially in sectors such as banking and insurance.

“IBM India, in the truest sense, is a microcosm of the IBM company,” Vanitha Narayanan, Chairman of the company’s Indian operations, said in an interview at IBM’s main campus in Bangalore.

Tech to predict natural disasters

IBM also revealed it will be investing in technologies to predict natural disasters like floods and cyclones in India, as part of a US$30million global programme aimed at disaster relief.

As part of the programme, it is calling on software developers and its employees to create the required solutions using cloud, data, artificial intelligence and blockchain platforms.

The company will be holding road shows in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi and Mumbai in the next coming months to promote the initiative.
