FBI to be investigation suspicious emails from its servers

The FBI recently launched an investigation regarding cyberattack emails sent from internal servers.

Indeed, the agency reported that thousands of fake emails were sent from one of its servers on Saturday morning, which could be part of a possible cyberattack. It was found out that the messages were purported sent from the US Department of Homeland Security and include a warning about a supposed threat.

These emails are very dangerous as the headers are real and originate from FBI infrastructure, although they didn’t include names or contact information from the sender. More than 100,000 emails were supposedly sent out.

In order to deal with this situation, the agency has immediately taken offline the affected hardware and warned the public to be vigilant of unknown senders, as well as to report any suspicious activity.
