European cloud providers have recently launched a joined cloud initiative.

Indeed, 28 companies and organisations from all over Europe have signed an agreement to make their cloud services Gaia-X compliant. This will be known as the Lighthouse Structura-X project.

The initiative will aim to develop a software framework of control and governance as well as implement a common set of policies and rules that can be applied to any existing cloud/ edge technology stack to obtain transparency, controllability, portability, and interoperability across data and services. It will be deployed on top of any existing cloud platform that adheres to the Gaia-X standard.

This project will be vital to building a common block for functioning data sovereignty in Europe.
