DDoS attacks to have increased significantly in Q1 2022

It was recently found out that DDoS attacks have been significantly increasing over the year due to international conflicts.

Indeed, a study by Kaspersky showed the war in Ukraine and the attacks on businesses in the government and financial sectors have led to a rise in DDoS attacks, with around 91,052 DDoS attacks in the first quarter of 2022. Most of them were directed in the USA and were UDP flood. They mostly happened in the first two months of 2022 with an average of 1,406 attacks per day.

These attacks originate from various sources from Russian-backed cyber forces and many organizations were not prepared to fight these kinds of threats. It was then recommended to maintain web resource operations by assigning specialists to respond to DDoS attacks as well as validate third-party agreements and contact information and implement professional solutions.
