Cloud centre to be launched in Calgary in the next few years

It was recently announced that Calgary in Canada would be receiving an investment of billions of dollars over the next years as Amazon Web Services (AWS) is setting up its second Canadian cloud server hub in the area.

Indeed, the new data center should create 950 jobs across Canada by 2037, as this is set up to be the largest technology investment in Alberta’s history. This is the first step in making the city a player on the global technology stage.

Moreover, the province has already witnessed the number of its tech companies double since 2018. In 2020, it also has reached a record for capital investment with £270m in deals. AWS then plans to launch the Calgary center in late 2023.
