Cisco buys Cmpute.io to analyse cloud-hosted workloads

Cisco has bought Cmpute.io in a bid to improve its multi-cloud management service.

Cmpute.io will help the networking giant analyse cloud-hosted workloads and consumption to optimise resources for each application, according to Cloud Pro.

Cisco will adjust the software to work with other public and private clouds, turning the service into its cloud center service, managing multi-cloud environments.

‘Customers need to budget’

Rob Salvagno, Cisco’s vice president of corporate business development, said to Cloud Pro: “With a multi-cloud strategy, customers need to budget, buy, and consume differently.

“Cmpute.io’s technology added to existing Cisco solutions will help our customers optimise their cloud consumption to ensure optimal business value.

“Its team and technology will also add new capabilities to Cisco Cloud Center and accelerate our delivery of cost-optimisation features for our customers.”
