Canadian websites to have shut down completely following log4j2 vulnerability

Canadian websites have temporarily shut down over the weekend in order to deal with the log4j2 vulnerability.

Indeed, it was reported that almost 4,000 Quebec websites were shut on Sunday to scan for possible vulnerabilities. Besides, the ongoing investigation found out that the flaw was in use in some Auvik systems and that the team has protected its systems against it with safe configuration and updates.

The CRA also declared that most of its digital services have been restored. It was still reported safer to take sites down rather than take the risk of them being exploited by the vulnerability.

Software vendors are currently working around the clock to address the issue.
