Aqua Security announces partnership with VMware Cloud Marketplace

Cloud native application firm, Aqua Security, reveals its latest native security platform will be available on VMware Cloud Marketplace. The company hopes to provide a solution for securing containerised applications from build to runtime on Pivotal PKS and VMware Enterprise PKS.

Third party solutions and services are available through the Cloud Marketplace, which can be used across private, public and cloud environments.  Solutions can be easily published for VMware customers across platforms once they have been validated.

Clients can access third party solutions from their cloud environments. They can also use features like analytics, reporting, and notifications.

Choosing Aqua Security

Aqua CSP was chosen as a partner for its ability to address the challenges of control, visibility, and isolation in container environments. It was also selected for its skill in being non-intrusive to DevOps practices.

Using Aqua CSP on Pivotal PKS and VMware brings enterprise users an end-to-end security solution which includes using virtual patching to prevent and detect vulnerabilities. It also scans images for vulnerabilities, malicious code and enforcement of image integrity throughout the software development cycle.

Along with these points, it’s hoped that Kubernetes clusters will also have security assessments. Runtime controls will be monitored to look at container activity in real time, based on custom policies and machine-learned behavioural profiles, to alert on or block suspicious actions and processes.

A new way of working

“Aqua Security is very excited to be a part of the VMware Cloud Marketplace,” said Upesh Patel, VP of Business Development for Aqua Security. “We believe that this marketplace will make it easy for VMware customers to deploy enterprise grade software in a complex computing environment.”

Patel goes on to add that, “Customers can build mission critical applications on Pivotal or VMware PKS and will be able to secure their entire application lifecycle in a scalable way, while automating DevSecOps processes.”

Milin Desai, GM, Cloud Services, VMware also discusses his excitement regarding the collaboration. He says, “We are pleased to see Aqua Security CSP available on VMware Cloud Marketplace,”

Validated technologies, such as Aqua CSP, enable IT teams to reduce cost, increase efficiency, and create operational consistency across cloud environments. We’re excited to work with partners such as Aqua Security to empower customers to fully leverage their cloud investments.” He continued.
