According to Tech London Advocates (TLA) survey findings, 74% of UK tech heads that work in the tech sector further the consequences if Conservative manifesto is put into effect.

Only 33% of survey respondents said that current immigration is tolerable to provide top international talent to companies and 56% said the current immigration policy does not permit world-class talent to come to the UK.

The Director General at Confederation of British Industry (CBI) Carolyn Fairbairn noted that employment in Britain is at its highest record, so the government can’t expect British workers to replace EU nationals.

Founder of Tech London Advocates, Russ Shaw, concluded that: “Access to global talent is a top priority from tech companies, and these results confirm that firms want a government that can establish an immigration and visa policy to meet this pressing need.”

More than 80% of tech start-ups in London employed oversea workers within their first five employees.

“With Brexit negotiations set to begin, we need a government that creates the right conditions for tech companies to grow, ensuring that they can access international talent to bridge the skills gap and provide world-leading insights and knowledge,” he added.

CBI added that the government must find talented staff before the country leaves the EU.
