Carbon emissions data to become vital in cloud purchasing decisions by 2025

It was recently reported that carbon emissions data will become a key factor in cloud purchasing decisions by 2025.

Indeed, a report by Gartner showed that cloud services giants are put under more and more pressure to make sure that their data centers are environmentally conscious. It was then found out that more than 90% of organizations have started to tackle carbon emissions.

This initiative will most likely start with the leading cloud providers as they represent the IT industry’s largest contributors to carbon emissions. They aspire to achieve net-zero emissions in the coming years.

Hence, almost all cloud providers have now sustainability initiatives in place, although their strategies still vary from company to company.
