AWS chief Andy Jassy appointed Amazon CEO

Amazon Web Services (AWS) chief executive Andy Jassy has been announced to become CEO of Amazon. Andy Jassy has led AWS since its beginnings, after joining Amazon in 1997.

In September, it was reported that Janssy was the likely successor, especially after Jeff Wilke, who was in charge of Amazon’s retail business, declare to retire early in 2021.

Jeff Bezos, who will be stepping aside to the role of executive chair, stated that Jassy would be an outstanding leader and will lead Amazon in the right direction.

It was indeed reported that under Jassy’s leadership, AWS has become the top company in public cloud infrastructure and IaaS since the beginning. At the moment, AWS’s biggest competitors are Microsoft and Google.
