As a way of expanding their presence across a global platform, Deutsche Telekom and Software AG have signed an IoT Made in Germany partnership plan.

The customer enterprise unit from Deutsch Telekom, known as T-Systems, will use Software AG’s IoT platform, Cumulocity, as the base for its combined Cloud of Things IoT unit. This allows companies to remotely manage, monitor and control connected machines and devices.

The telecommunications company (who are part of T-Mobile) hopes that the collaboration will mean that by using a multi-cloud environment, it will allow them to respond more quickly to customer demand.

They also hope to be able to expand on their abilities with new functions like microservices, streaming analytics and having new protocols.

Extending capabilities

Adel Al-Saleh, CEO of T-Systems and Board Member of Deutsche Telekom, spoke of how the new integration will mean that the German network will have the ability to expand its market into new sectors, such as the smart home field.

He said: “We’re delighted to be extending the reach and capabilities of our Cloud-of-Things IoT platform alongside our new partner. Software AG’s technology is critical in enabling us to scale an already successful service and introduce new functionality, giving us the confidence to move into new sectors.”

Simplifying IoT

Also commenting on the move, Sanjay Brahmawar, CEO of Software AG, said: “This is a new way of partnering and co-operating to offer complete IoT solutions for the real-time economy. Customers can simplify their IoT and integration needs with self-service analytics and gain insights to accelerate their businesses for the fully connected future.
